Balicasag Marine Sanctuary is a flat island four kilometers southwest of the Doljo Point off of Panglao Reef. This dive site is about 30 to 45 minutes from Panglao Island.
Balicasag Marine Sanctuary has narrow reefs at about 9 to 49.5 meters wide and is one of the many reasons why Balicasag Island has gained popularity among many foreign and local divers.
Balicasag Island is said to be one of the best dive sites in Asia. Stunning walls, coral gardens, and many turtles make this haven their home. A marine sanctuary with 5 different dive sites and walls down to 40 plus meters.
Open Water divers will enjoy Balicasag as there is a plateau between 6 to 18 meters before the wall drops off.
Giant black corals, schools of jackfish, barracudas, turtles, sponges, frogfish, moray eels, soft and hard corals make Balicasag Island an unforgettable diving experience. Whale sharks are sometimes spotted swimming gracefully along the walls. This dive site is also a haven for snorkelers. With a small kayak, you can go onto the island and explore the realms of the sea.
