Koala is 5 to 18 meters in depth and about a 22-minute boat ride from Anilao. The dive here is normally a one-way drift dive with a current that runs parallel to the shoreline. The visibility varies from 10 to 25 meters.
Near the shoreline of up to about 10 meters in depth is composed of rocks and hard corals. A fine sandy bottom composition that is ideal for open water divers on mild or no current conditions.
Koala has many kinds of goby for underwater photographers and is often visited by green turtles, white tip grey reef sharks, a school of small yellowtail barracudas, big brown stripped grouper fish, black sailfin gobies, and pygmy sea horses.
