Big Laurel and Small Laurel are located on the southeast part of Boracay, opposite to Crocodile Island. Big Laurel and Small Laurel are two separate dive sites that are very similar and quite close to each other. Big Laurel has a swim-through tunnel filled with soft corals and nudibranchs. Both Laurels are sloping walls with healthy corals and prolific fish life which makes them great dive sites for macro photographers.
The corals are very well preserved since these dive sites are seldom dived. The current can occasionally be strong. The maximum depth is 20 meters. The fish population varies with the currents, blue-ribbon eels, morays, lionfish, scorpionfish, boxfish and many more make their home on this reef. Also, take a close look at the gorgonian sea fans and see if you can spot the tiny and rather shy pygmy seahorses.
